The Adventures of Bucky Bovine

last update: 8/8/06 (with special guest)

Bucky Bovine was born in Madison, Wisconsin. He got his name from
his more famous but less attractive cousin, Bucky Badger. His adventures
begin here, sitting atop his computer monitor in Los Angeles, California,
where he now resides.

Bucky and Kristal awaiting their flight to Austin, Texas to check out the
music scene and living conditions. After all, he's well aware that a bovine that
stays in the same field year after year is pretty much a sitting duck.

A scarcely known fact is that bovines love to fly. Sadly, because of their
size and inability to use a seated toilet they are usually forced to travel
by ground. Not the case with Bucky, and he relishes his window seat.

Early one morning I woke to hear typing and strange moos coming from
the other room. Much to my dismay, I discovered our hero has a bit of
a fetish for internet bovine porn.

In May of 2005 our adventurer made his way to the shores of Ipanema
in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Living large, he opts to refrain from the beach
crowd just yet and enjoys the luxury of his hotel suite above the masses.

Eventually the lure of the Brazil's hot sun and the waves of the Atlantic
called him out. Sporting his Brazilian thong (difficult to see in this photo,
thankfully) Bucky attracted a mildly uncomfortable amount of attention.

Bucky does enjoy his train rides. This ride takes him through
the jungle and to the falls of Iguazu in the north of Argentina.

Alas, he made it to the falls but refused to come out of the camera case he had been
traveling in, fearing the heavy mist from the falls would ruin his only suede coat.

Even heros need their down-time.

Bucky spent a day visiting small villages along the Amazon, sharing his
worldly wisdom as the world's foremost bovine traveler.

Boating the high seas of the Amazon's Rio Negro, Bucky takes some time
for himself to soak in the experience and ponder his next adventure.

June 2005 Bucky takes a stroll along the trails of Torrey Pines Reserve
overlooking the Pacific along the La Jolla / Del Mar coast in San Diego.

Another stop along Torrey Pines.

July 2005, Bucky takes in a day at the Del Mar race track to get a look at
his often compared but clearly inferior four-legged counterpart
.

April 2006 - Where in the world is Bucky Bovine? Well it appears that our little
adventurer has taken a lifeguarding job in Jamaica.

So focused on his duties that Bucky doesn't even flinch as the paparazzi
cameras catch up with him.

Our hero takes time to pose for us along the shore of Whitehouse, Jamaica
(about 90 minutes outside of Montego Bay).

May 2006 Bucky takes in some rock climbing in Joshua Tree
National Park. Purist that he is, Bucky prefers free climbing
(no ropes) so he can feel more in touch with nature.

June 2006 - The foremost bovine adventurer makes his way up LA's highest peak.

...Along the way he gets side-tracked. He can't pass up his
first
chance to play in the Los Angeles snow, in JUNE!

...Alas, our hero reaches the 10,064 foot summit of San Antonio, better known as Mount Baldy.

July 2006, Bucky takes a liking to his weekend hikes...

...this time making his way up Mt. San Jacinto at 10,834 feet.
Hmmm, back to back hikes. What could this bovine be up to next?

You might be wondering who this is, as it's easy to see it's obviously
not Bucky, but there is a very slight resemblance. Wes, Bucky's brother,
has decided to see what all this adventure fuss is about. Here Wes visits
the Oklahoma State Capitol in Oklahoma City.

Wes cruises by the Oklahoma Science Museum.

Wes finds his way to another state capitol in Austin, Texas.

August 2006 - Bucky takes an impromptu trip to meet up with Wes.

Our hero enjoys a bird's eye view of Marina del Rey, California.

The brothers meet up in Denver, Colorado and share some bonding moments in the grass.

Bucky joins Wes on his tour of state capitols.

Wes demonstrates his new talent as a bovine cannonball.

After Denver, Buck and Wes stopped off in Arches National Park in southern Utah.

Bucky took some time to take in Delicate Arch, an infamous Utah landmark.

A pose for the people.

August 2006 - Well, here's what all that hiking prep was for... Our hero takes on
the tallest peak in the contiguous 48 states...

...taking occasional breaks along beautiful stream sides...

...lake views...

...and finally to the peak of Mt Whitney's 14,496 foot summit!
