I met Tom on a hike on my last day in Killarney. He was on his way to anywhere, and I envied his journey. On the trail he called himself Oatmeal, a name he acquired while hiking the Appalachian Trail.

The dark square rock sitting just above the water in the center is where I sat alone and enjoyed my PB&J sandwich, my last lunch before starting my trek homeward. The journey was something my soul had been begging for, and while I sat there I wasn't sure I had soaked in all I could. I felt like I was flying while carrying a boulder. But I'm endlessly thankful for all I met and all I learned.
